Siena Lakes Names Varun Kakar Associate Executive Director

Siena Lakes, an Erickson Senior Living-managed retirement community in Naples, Fla, is pleased to announce the promotion of Varun Kakar to associate executive director. 

Varun Kakar joined Erickson Senior Living in 2009 as a student server and has worked in dining leadership at several Erickson Senior Living communities, including Highland Springs in Dallas, Texas,Fox Run in Novi, Michigan, and Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA.  He most recently served as director of dining at Siena Lakes.  In 2023, Kakar was named Siena Lakes’ Leader of the Year.  

“Early in his career, Varun's strong leadership qualities and engaging personality were evident to all who worked with him and would propel him to higher levels of responsibility within the organization,” stated Executive Director Mike McCormick.  “He has distinguished himself as a thoughtful, interactive leader, and his dedication to serving residents and fellow team members make him the ideal candidate for this role at Siena Lakes.”  

Kakar has a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

In 2023, Siena Lakes launched the construction of its 66,000 square-foot continuing care neighborhood, Torre Square.  The new two-story building will feature 53 residences consisting of assisted living apartments and memory care and long-term care suites along with ample amenity spaces and interior courtyards.  The community expects to welcome residents to Torre Square in late 2024.
