Windsor Run 2022 Staff Appreciation Fund Brings Good Tidings to Hourly Staff

December 16, 2022
Residents of Windsor Run contribute to the Staff Appreciation Fund to express thanks for a job well done.

Smiles of staff members at Windsor Run, the Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Matthews, are shining brighter than tinsel this holiday season, thanks to residents’ generous donations to the 2022 Staff Appreciation Fund (SAF).

Each year, residents of Windsor Run donate to the SAF as a way of recognizing the community’s hourly employees, who work diligently to provide them an industry-leading level of service. In 2022 alone, residents contributed more than $144,675 to the SAF.

The funds were then dispersed to 171 eligible employees, which include dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, housekeepers, medical and nursing assistants, and many more.

At special events held on December 6 that decked the halls, residents had the opportunity to express their appreciation in person during the check distribution, and in kind, employees enjoyed the opportunity to say thanks as well. Delicious food, treats, and hot cocoa were served at the receptions.

The spirit of the tight-knit community, bolstered by this teamwork and residents’ desire to give back, doesn’t go unrecognized by its leaders.

“Thank you to our residents for contributing to the fund this year!” says Executive Director George Comfort. “As Windsor Run continues to grow and welcome new residents and staff, strengthening our community culture is so important. Initiatives such as the Staff Appreciation Fund provide residents and employees the opportunity to develop supportive relationships that are founded in respect. In witnessing these connections blossom, I’m constantly reminded how special Windsor Run really is.”
