Corporate Citizenship

Sharing our time, talents, and treasures

At Erickson Living, employees and residents are empowered to actively engage their time and resources for the betterment of the larger community. That sense of responsibility is at the core of our mission: We share our gifts to create communities that celebrate life.

Each Erickson Living-managed community supports causes and organizations important to the individuals who live and work there. Residents and employees annually donate hundreds of thousands of hours in volunteer time and millions of dollars.

Striving to be good neighbors

Erickson Living has earned a reputation for being good neighbors to their surrounding communities. Community leaders quickly become enthusiastic supporters when they see the positive impact an Erickson Living-managed campus could have in their area.

Low-impact development

Our professional planners work with members of the community to design a campus that will bring much-needed services while minimizing the effect on the area's traffic, aesthetics, environment, character, and culture. Erickson Living-managed campuses are uniquely self-sufficient, providing their own security and emergency response service. Campuses also handle their own road repair, snow removal, and other services typically funded by the local government. Further positive economic impact is generated through capital investment, community expenses, and the creation of about 1,000 new jobs per campus.

Diversity and Inclusion

A key objective for our success

We recognize that a workforce reflecting the rich and dynamic diversity of our nation’s population is essential to our success. That’s why we’ve established vibrant Diversity and Inclusion Councils at our corporate office and every Erickson Living-managed campus, implemented diversity training for all employees, and promoted celebrations of the unique backgrounds of community residents.

Promoting a culture of diversity is a key company-wide objective, demonstrating acceptance of diversity as a core value and including the concept in all employee annual performance reviews.

Celebrating our differences

Communities enthusiastically embrace and celebrate the diversity of staff and residents in fun and interesting ways, from interfaith holiday celebrations and cultural heritage months to community forums and outreach programs that explore various cultures and religions.

Diversity and Inclusion training

Erickson Living conducts a comprehensive training program for all corporate and community employees to encourage a common understanding of the organization’s strategy on diversity and inclusion. The communities offer a program called Successful Community Living that promotes respect, civility, and understanding.
